Petlura, an artist, experiments with the clothing of the Soviet period. The objects of Petlura come from the flea markets of Moscow and former Soviet Union. Official web site of Petlura
Solo-Mâtine, a fashion designer, has a passion for the clothing of the post-war period and the first clothing designed specificaly for young people. The objects of Solo-Mâtine come in particular from the flea markets of Geneva, Paris, London and Amsterdam. more about Solo-Mâtine
Petlura and Solo-Mâtine establish a dialog between their collections of objects. A cup, a painting, a shoe or a piece of clothing, speak and reconstitute the history of their time. These costumes and accessories, so close to people, talk about their daily life, their lifestyle, their concerns and small secrets. Interpretations of the differences which created these two worlds is in the core of the dialog. Ideological differences of thoughts and mentalities make it possible for a distinct interpretation of the same thing. The exhibition is composed as follows:
